💧 Water Safety Tips for Little Keiki: Keeping Playtime Safe and Fun! 🌊

Playing in the water—whether at the beach, pool, or lake—is one of the best parts of summer! But keeping our little keiki (kids) safe around water is super important. Here are some simple and helpful water safety tips to make sure everyone has fun while staying safe.

🐾 1. Always Have an Adult Nearby

Even if your child is a great swimmer, they should never be left alone near water. A grown-up should always watch closely—no distractions!

🦮 2. Use Life Jackets or Floaties

When on a boat, near deep water, or if your keiki is still learning to swim, life jackets or approved floaties are a must. They help keep kids safe and give parents peace of mind.

🌞 3. Protect from the Sun

Don’t forget sunscreen, hats, and shade! Water can reflect the sun’s rays, so reapply sunscreen often to keep little skin safe and happy.

🐢 4. Teach “Water Rules”

  • No running near the pool!

  • Always swim with a buddy.

  • Don’t dive into shallow water.

  • Listen to lifeguards and grown-ups.

🌈 5. Practice Swimming Skills

If possible, enroll your keiki in swimming lessons. Learning how to float, kick, and get comfortable in the water builds confidence and safety.

🐾 6. Know How to Get Help

Make sure kids know how to call for help or where to find a lifeguard if something feels wrong. Teaching these skills early can save lives.

🌺 Water Safety is Aloha Care

Just like Lolo Kiko watches out for his friends, we watch out for our keiki. Water safety is a way to show love and care, making sure playtime is joyful and worry-free.

Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy every splash! 🌊🐾🌊
